Fat Friendly Outdoorsmen started the way most good things do — around a campfire, talking about gear that worked, gear that didn’t, and how hard it was to find a firearms dealer who actually knew what they were selling.
So we built one.
We’re a veteran-owned, family-operated firearms and outdoor outfitter based in California. We carry the brands we trust, sell at fair prices, and take care of our customers the way we’d want to be taken care of — like neighbors, not transactions.
What We Stand For
Honest gear recommendations. If a $400 scope will do what you need, we’re not going to upsell you to an $1,800 one. We’d rather earn your repeat business than your one-time impulse buy.
Real expertise. Every person on our team hunts, shoots, or both. When you ask a question, you get an answer from someone who’s actually used the product — not someone reading a spec sheet.
Respect for the Second Amendment. We follow every federal, state, and local law to the letter. We’re proud members of the NRA Business Alliance, NSSF, and registered with GSA CAGE for government contracting.

Our Story
Charles grew up hunting / shooting / in the military. after years of frustration of being a customer, he opened Fat Friendly Outdoorsmen in 2015 with one goal: make buying a firearm or outdoor gear feel like talking to a friend who happens to own a gun store.
Today, we serve customers across all 50 states through our online store and FFL transfer service, while still running our brick-and-mortar shop in Valley Springs where you can come in, handle the gear, and shoot the breeze.
The name? Look, we’re not pretending to be Navy SEALs. We’re regular guys who love the outdoors, can put away a sandwich, and know our way around a rifle. Fat Friendly Outdoorsmen says exactly who we are — and we’re proud of it.
